OK today I had the liberty of playing a line 6 spider 5. The tone was fucking Outstanding. I cannot understand why so many people bash Line six. This amp had a shot load of amp models and cabs. The tones where all adjustable it was bad ass. Great tone great fucking effects.
Yeah I heard they cut corners in a couple of ways compared to the Older Models, for 1) they changed the Speakers from "Celestian" to some other brand, 2 they closed the backs off, which changes the original tone from the open back Celestian's, which I am sure changed the over all sound of the Spiders 1,2,3 from the day. To me Line 6 is Awesome, but the Spider 5's lose their Original sound & Tone from the modeling amps of the day.
